3 Day Detox Diets

Every year people make new year's resolutions, and most of the time people include something about their health. More specifically, something about their weight and getting in shape. Everyone wants to be in better shape than they are, but it's tough to figure out just what that entails, besides long hours at the gym and diets that are no fun at all. Sometimes, though, instead of slogging through months of self-imposed torture to get yourself ready for summer beach weather, all it takes is a few days of resetting your body's internal chemistry - after which big changes in your weight and overall health won't seem too difficult to accomplish - and just in time for summer.

A 3 day detox diet is intended to give your internal digestive system a break from the regular food you've been feeding it for months (and given the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, likely overfeeding it) so it can recharge its batteries and get ready for meaningful change. The other important aspect is detoxification. Over the years we ingest so many chemicals and harsh substances that come from our highly processed diets, and these take a subtle toll on our overall health, energy levels, and feeling of wellbeing. With a 3 day detox, it is possible to cleanse the body of these harmful toxins and rejuvenate your skin, digestive tract, hair and nails - and many other aspects of your health.

Many people think that 3 days is too long to avoid the foods they love, as well as their personal vices like alcohol, caffeine, coffee, and other things. In the grand scheme of things, though, it is a small price to pay for the health benefits. Our diet is extremely important to our health, and not just how we look in a swimsuit. With a 3 day detox diet you can get yourself ready for bigger lifestyle changes like exercise, yoga, and other dietary changes with a short term fix that will leave you feeling rested and rejuvenated.
